URGENT: Unbelievable and outrageous removal of Beni’s Governor

El Deber reports in its website tonight, an outrageous political move stirred by current political party in central government.

The Governor of Beni, Ernesto Suárez Sattori was suspended in the last few hours. -Authority argues that this is a coup d ‘ état sponsored by the national Government. Haisen Ribera Leigue, member of the Departmental Council, belongs to the revolutionary nationalist movement party (MNR), in representation of the Mamoré province is in his place.

The opposition Governor to the current Government, faces a trial for having used economic resources to repair an electricity generator for the municipality of San Borja. “Today a plot was engineered from the public prosecutor office to formally place an accusation against me, it was presented to the departmental Assembly without being on the agenda”, denounced Suárez.

14 votes against Suarez and 13 were in his favor, which determined the exit of the suspended authority. “This is part of the political persecution in a disproportionate effort to take the governorship.” This determination violates the political Constitution of the State, said the authority at the press conference.

This type of “removal” was orchestrated by current occasions: Governors of La Paz, Cochabamba, Tarija, and Pando were removed with allegations of different sorts; like the mayor of Potosi. It is worth remembering that over 600 Bolivian people were forced to seek “political asylum” in Brazil, USA, Peru and Paraguay.

This is how democracy attempts to survive in Bolivia…

Did the Bolivian People not already make themselves clear in the National elections? Democratic values was voted out!

In politics, its always; your either with us or against us!

    The questions remains; Now what?

    1. Many people who voted and supported current government are now fighting to gain more visibility and to eventually present themselves as options for next election. Options with the same old song… populism and socialism have not worked in Europe; it is a matter of time for Cuba to begin shifting their economic model. The bad thing within Bolivia is that there is no longer a sense of nationality; almost everyone is going their own way. The worst part is that having our international debt been erased and with those incredible high prices on the non-renewable resources we export, we see our neighbors growing, generating employment and being more competitive… and we don’t…

One can write a book on each of the points you raise. However, without participation from private industries world-wide, Bolivia will end up on the same path as Cuba; – Not a very impressive socioeconomic model.

Even Bolivia’s most precious resources will not save its inhabitants from ultimately lagging behind developed nations, if the country can’t unite.

Nevertheless, it is the responsibility of the professors at the universities, and fathers of their children to pave the path of a Nation.

President Morales seems to represents the majority sentiment now, of the Bolivian Nation, and now the world is watching and waiting.
