Opposition justifies protests during presidential tenure

For her part, Senator Centa Rek from Santa Cruz said that this type of demonstration will continue until the reversal of the measures that leave the opposition caucuses without participation is achieved.

“As long as we do not have a voice and vote, we are not going to be in agreement with the steps being taken, it is not enough to have a seat in the Legislative Assembly or attend an act of assumption of command, it is enough to have a voice and vote, that signal is very important,” said.

During the presidential inauguration ceremony, the Citizen Community caucus expressed its discontent through posters and t-shirts that requested the restitution of two-thirds, to later leave the legislative palace in the middle of the inauguration ceremony. On the part of the Creemos caucus, this political organization decided not to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Arce.

Las protestas llevadas adelante durante los actos de asunción de mando del presidente, Luis Arce, fueron justificadas por parlamentarios de oposición, argumentando que estas medidas responden a la actitud oportunista de ex parlamentarios del Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) y se espera que estas señales muestren al oficialismo la necesidad de dejar sin efecto las modificaciones realizadas por la anterior legislatura.

Las protestas de las bancadas opositoras en el Legislativo durante los actos de posesión del presidente Arce, pidiendo la reversión de las modificaciones a los reglamentos camarales efectuados por parlamentarios de la anterior legislatura antes del culminar sus funciones fueron justificadas por senadores nacionales, además señalan que estas medidas deben ser tomadas como una muestra de rechazo de la población a la que representan.

El senador por CC el departamento de Tarija, Rodrigo Paz, señaló que estas protestas van en contra de la medida artera de los ex parlamentarios y no contra la asunción al mando nacional del presidente Arce, por lo que pidió tomar en cuenta la reversión de las modificaciones ya mencionadas.

“Ayer se levantaron unos carteles y una protesta, no a la institucionalidad, no al hecho que haya asumido un presidente o un vicepresidente en justo derecho y respetando los resultados, sino a esa maniobra artera que hizo la anterior legislatura terminando un día antes de terminar y cambia las condiciones de juego”, manifestó Paz.

Por su parte, la senadora cruceña Centa Rek, expresó que este tipo de manifestaciones continuarán hasta que se logre la reversión de las medidas que dejan sin participación a las bancadas opositoras.

“Mientras no tengamos voz y voto no vamos a estar conformes con las gestiones que se están haciendo, no basta tener asiento en la Asamblea Legislativa o asistir a un acto de asunción de mando, basta tener voz y voto, esa señal es importantísima”, dijo.

Durante la ceremonia de posesión presidencial la bancada de Comunidad Ciudadana manifestó su descontento mediante carteles y poleras que pedían la restitución de los dos tercios, para posteriormente abandonar el palacio legislativo en media ceremonia de asunción. Por parte de la bancada de Creemos, esta organización política decidió no asistir al acto de posesión del presidente Arce.
