The folly of “awarding” contracts without complying with the law, El Diario reports:
Sinohydro company history
Between 2013 and 2015, the Chinese company Sinohydro won four projects in Bolivia for $851 million dollars.
A report by ANF notes that they had a history in Ecuador for improper performance of works.
– In December 2012, they faced ten business and civil trials for fraud and breach of contract in Ecuador.
A few weeks ago, they won the El Sillar stretch of 28 kilometers, distant 100 kilometers from Cochabamba on the road to Santa Cruz. The project will cost $426 million dollars.
On June 25, 2014, the press reported that the Bolivian state Guaracachi, dependent from ENDE, signed a contract with Sinohydro for the execution of the hydroelectric project San José for $235 million dollars.
– In December 2013, the company was awarded the construction of two sections of double track bridge Ichilo-Ivirgazama $107 million dollars.
– Government and Chinese Embassy in Bolivia are negotiating labor trial.
I am fed-up with this governments’ fixation with Cuba and China, and all the crap that the “socialism of the 21st century” came upon … we are been forced to take “loans” from the Chinese and end up with poor implementation, and corruption to say the least… NO more!
