El Deber reports:
The IBCE reflects a marginal trade with the ALBA
The general manager of the Bolivian Institute of Foreign Trade (IBCE), Gary Rodriguez said, with data from INE, that the trade relationship with countries of Bolivia’s ideological affinity, as the group of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) is ‘negligible’ and ‘marginal’ in relation to other countries with less resemblance policy.
Rodriguez said that in 2013, Bolivia exported only $289 million dollars to the ALBA block of a total of $12 billion sold, thanks to countries like Venezuela and Ecuador.
He said that in general the countries of the ALBA prefer doing business with the U.S. than between them. “Everything had been expected with the best intentions by the first leaders of ALBA [and] has not yielded the expected results,” he said.
