Three newspapers report that as a result of the failed negotiations, TIPNIS indigenous groups will start marching towards La Paz on August 2, 2011. Cidob’s President Adolfo Chávez, said they couldn’t get an agreement with public officials from The Bolivian Roads Administrator (ABC) and the Vice-ministry of the Environment and Water, as reported by El Deber.

La Prensa reports: Cidob’s president said there is no political interest, or to compete with anyone, and mentioned they want to enforce the Constitution, where their rights are stated. He also said that the people want to live according to their own development vision and that the region should remain as in (no road).

Pagina Siete reports march will start on August 19, 2011 in the headline but on the body it mentions August 15th. Cidob’s president said they received contradictory information: “they tell us there is a study (environmental assessment) and then there isn’t one… they should be more responsible” he says.
