Budweiser entering the country in the hands of CBN

Budweiser, the icon of American beer, enters Bolivia as part of the portfolio of the Bolivian national Brewery (CBN).

The official presentation of the brand, which stands for 133 years in the international market, was held yesterday at 23:00 in Sirionó Hall of the Fexpocruz, event to which were invited 350 people.

On the characteristics of the beverage, Andrés González, the CBN marketing manager, said it is a lager beer (light, refreshing) special for the market of Santa Cruz and its warm weather, but that will be for sale in cities across the country. In Bolivia, there are consumers who are eager for different options and this beer is present in more than 150 countries”, he explained.

Budweiser is part of the company Anheuser-Busch InBev NV, majority shareholder of the CBN and is offered the bottle of 330 cc to Bs 11 and the can of 354 cc to Bs 8.50.

According to reports of Budweiser, its turnover outside the U.S. rose 20% in 2011, due to an initiative of global expansion of its parent company, Anheuser-Busch InBev NV.

The giant Brewer based in Belgium argued that global growth of Budweiser is recorded little more than three years after that InBev bought Anheuser-Busch. InBev reported $ 39,050 million dollars in revenue last year.

On the other hand, the demand for beer in Bolivia between 2010 and 2011 reached 3.3 million hectoliters (each hectoliter equals 100 liters), according to the Economist Gonzalo Chavez.

Consumption per capita or per person in Bolivia is 32.6 litres per year, while in other countries such as Paraguay reached 37.7 litres; Argentina, 41.4 litres; Mexico, 61 litres; United States, 84 litres and Spain, 82 litres.
