The National Tax Service (SIN) has launched the new Auxiliary Banking Register, set to take effect on January 1, 2025. This system requires individuals and entities to report transactions involving the purchase or sale of goods or services valued at Bs 50,000 or more.

SIN President Mario Cazón explained that users can access the system through the institution’s virtual office at www.impuestos.gob.bo. The aim is to help taxpayers meet their fiscal obligations more easily.

“The submission of information via the Auxiliary Banking Register will support these transactions through payment methods regulated by the financial system or the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB), such as checks,” Cazón noted. He emphasized that the requirement to bank transactions of Bs 50,000 or more has been in place for some time, with the new feature enabling faster, secure submissions through the SIAT Online platform.

This measure is based on Normative Resolution of the Board (RND) Nº 102400000021, “Support of Transactions with Payment Documents,” approved on September 20, 2024. Article 5 of the resolution highlights the tax implications of transactions lacking payment documentation, which could result in the loss of tax credits in some cases, such as for VAT.

The SIN is providing in-person and virtual training sessions for taxpayers under the General Regime to facilitate compliance with this tax requirement. Training is also available for accountants to assist their clients with the new regulation. Tutorial videos and more information are accessible on the institution’s official social media channels.

Who Must Bank Transactions?

RND Nº 102400000021 applies to all individuals or entities, regardless of association type, as well as public entities, companies, and state organizations, for transactions involving the purchase or sale of goods and/or services totaling Bs 50,000 or more, whether paid in full, on credit, or via installments within Bolivia.

Information Submission

Taxpayers must submit monthly reports via the “Auxiliary Banking Register” according to the Technical Annex on the website www.impuestos.gob.bo, following a specified schedule.
