Bolivia’s largest attorney firm adds first non-family partners

Thomas Muskett-Ford reports for Latin Lawyer:

Bolivia’s largest firm adds first non-family partners

Moreno Baldivieso Estudio de Abogados has promoted six lawyers who are not from the Moreno family to the partnership, shaking up one of the region’s more traditional legal markets in an effort to address retention concerns.

Moreno Baldivieso promoted Miguel Angel Jemio, 40, Delfor Zapata, 51, Daniel Arredondo, 38, and René Claure, 33, in La Paz; and Paul Aramayo, 48, and René Cuellar, 33, in the commercial hub of Santa Cruz last month. All six lawyers practise a wide range of transactional and non-transactional legal disciplines.

Bolivian Thoughts opinion: Finally great news for Bolivia! This attorney’s firm has taken the right step! Bolivia’s companies have had the tendency of perpetuating family members as the key partners and upper management and in most of the cases have resulted in negative outcomes, until the venture diluted.

With this move, Moreno Baldivieso sets a clear example to us all, kudos! This firm is now more competitive and sets upper standards not only to counselor’s firms but to all Bolivian private sector!

In order to understand and know more this company, I visited its website and here are some info about them:
