The Latino American Who’s Who Recognizes Eduardo Félix Medrano-Salas

Elmhurst, NY/LWW Press/January 2, 2012 – –Eduardo Félix Medrano-Salas, Assistant Principal, Newtown High School, was selected for inclusion in the 2012 edition of The Latino American Who’s Who.

2013-01-07 06.52.36 amFor many generations since 1897, Newtown High School had been responsible for educating the young and eager minds of those who walk through its welcoming threshold. Newtown High School has a lot to be proud of. It has the good fortune of being located in the most diverse city of the United States, which gives the students a chance to discover and unite with those coming from another cultural background. It is also a school that consists of ambitious and intellectual students who are willing to do the best they can in order to accomplish their goals in life. It is truly astounding how Newtown’s vitality could go on for so long without becoming weary of the changing times, which is accompanied with new challenges. It is because of these striking aspects of our school that we are proud to say that Newtown truly “Towers above the rest”.

Mr. Medrano-Salas has been Assistant Principal of Newtown High School for over 5 years and has been in education for over 23 years. He is an Adjunct Lecturer for the Foreign Languages and Literatures Department at City College of the City University of New York. His secret to success has been perseverance.

Mr. Medrano-Salas has been a frequent guest poet at the Caribbean and Latin American Center Studies at New York University. He was mentioned in Asociacion Prometeo de Poesia 2012 as one of seven thousand poets of the Spanish language, Madrid, Spain. In addition, Mr. Medrano-Salas was awarded by the Hispanic Parade of New York City as the Bolivian Quijote, 2011. Mr. Medrano-Salas published Alusiones in Madrid, Spain in 2011. He will also publish First Steps to Poetry, bilingual poetry for pre-teens, Bloomington, IN. 2013. Mr. Medrano-Salas is a member of the Poetas de Nueva York, the Bolivian Parade of New York, Unidos Para Bolivia, and the Bolivian Charities of New York.

Mr. Medrano-Salas has a BA in Translation of English to Spanish (vice versa) from Montclair State University, a MA in Hispanic Literatures from City College, CUNY and a MS in Leadership and School Change from Bank Street College of Education.

The Latino American Who’s Who is a New York based biographical publication that selects and distinguishes leading Latino professionals throughout the world who have attained a recognizable degree of success in their field of endeavor and thereby contribute to the growth of their industry and culture.  The Latino Who’s Who promotes an awareness of the achievements of the Latino professional and executive by creating a networking platform to provide recognition of individual accomplishments. The annual registry of the Latino American “Who’s Who” is formatted as an elegant hard cover edition as well as an online edition that provides information on recognized individuals.
