President of Cainco to Pre-Candidates: “We Need Concrete Measures, Not Just Electoral Dreams”

This Tuesday, Jean Pierre Antelo was re-elected as president of Cainco. He spoke about the “economic crisis” and urged pre-candidates to be realistic with their proposals.

After being re-elected as president of the Chamber of Industry, Commerce, Services, and Tourism (Cainco) of Santa Cruz, Jean Pierre Antelo spoke to the press, reaffirmed his commitment to helping businesses overcome the “economic crisis,” and called on those aspiring to the presidency to present real and concrete proposals.

“Our commitment, once again in this term and with this board of directors, is to continue being an ally to our affiliated companies so that we can overcome this period of economic crisis together and contribute in a naturally polarized electoral year, but where the role of the private sector must be one of optimism,” Antelo stated.

He emphasized that Cainco serves as the voice of the business sector, advocating for an economic model focused on development and job creation. Additionally, he pointed out that Bolivia’s wealth is not only concentrated in natural resources but also in human capital.

When asked about Bolivia’s economic situation, he recalled that a few days ago, Cainco posed questions to President Luis Arce, and this Tuesday, he urged pre-candidates to respond to them as well.

“We need specific solutions, concrete measures, not just electoral dreams that later turn into unfulfilled promises,” Antelo stated.

Regarding the confiscation measures opposed by sectors of the country’s production chain, he said they undermine private security and deter investment.

“All these regulations do is continue sidelining the private sector from the country’s decision-making. By not giving the private sector the role it deserves, we are facing a crisis that prevents us from developing,” he said.

On the restrictions on meat and soybean exports, he stated that they only lead to greater scarcity and poverty.

“At a time when we should be looking at the world as our market, when fresh foreign currency is needed in the country, these measures go in the opposite direction,” he said.
