Shortly after learning of the government’s decision to suspend beef exports, the president of the Santa Cruz Chamber of Industry, Commerce, Services, and Tourism (Cainco), Jean Pierre Antelo, expressed his rejection and considered it “denying the crisis and pointing elsewhere.”

The suspension of exports confirms what we suspected: denying the crisis and pointing elsewhere. The government’s response is clear: more state intervention, fewer exports, and more poverty for Bolivians. A path we already know how it ends (sic),” he posted on his social media.

The Minister of Productive Development and Plural Economy, Néstor Huanca, announced that beef exports will not be authorized until supply stabilizes and prices decrease in the local market.

The authority questioned the price increase despite assurances that pastures and livestock feed have been secured. ///agc
