Bolivia está cerca de la estanflación | Bolivia is close to stagflation

El Diario:

The lack of diesel slows down the productive activity of companies and industries in the country.

After reaching a statistical growth of 6.11% in 2021, it dropped to 3.61% in 2022 and to 3.08% in 2023. The Bolivian economy has once again entered a slowdown, placing Bolivia close to stagflation, according to economist Gonzalo Chávez.

The lack of dollars and fuel, especially diesel, is slowing down the productive activity of companies and industries, while the prices of both domestic and imported products continue to rise. In light of this situation, various sectors are announcing mobilizations.

Some economists are more pessimistic and predict a possible recession, as the palliative measures do not address the root of the problem, which is excessive public spending.
