The president of the Federation of Private Entrepreneurs of Santa Cruz (FEPSC), Óscar Mario Justiniano, said this Monday that President Luis Arce’s message on the national anniversary on August 6 must be “aligned” and should reveal how he will tackle the difficult economic situation facing the country.

“He must make a shift in the economy to overcome the two most important problems we have, the diesel supply and the exchange rate,” Justiniano stated.

He added, “What Bolivians expect are such proposals to develop the necessary consensus, because adjustments need to be made.”

“These adjustments must be made. Clearly. The fuel supply, the subsidy, the exchange rate that we entrepreneurs are on edge about, are part of what should be done because regardless of the president’s administration, the problems will not go away; we have to work,” he demanded.

Also from Santa Cruz, the “Evo-supporting” senator William Torrez said that the president “must give certainties to Bolivians.” “The president must tell the truth about the economic, political, and social situation. Arce has become accustomed to not telling the truth to the people of Bolivia and lies permanently,” the legislator expressed in statements to DTV.

On the other hand, the “Arce-supporting” deputy, Ninoska Morales, assured that the first president “will give good news to the country this Tuesday.” “He will give us total peace of mind; moreover, the industrialization he promised during his campaign is already starting,” she declared.

This Monday, the Deputy Minister of Communication, Gabriela Alcón, indicated that the message the president will deliver on August 6 will focus on “the crisis does not stop the Government.”

“The crisis does not stop us, and we are providing solutions with work; we all must reflect on what we want for our country,” Alcón said in contact with journalists.

This Tuesday, the head of state will preside over the events commemorating the 199th anniversary of Bolivia’s independence from the capital, Sucre, from where he will deliver a message to the country.
