The two models | Los dos modelos

El Dia:

The Diagnosis company has just conducted a national survey and asked people if they prefer the Santa Cruz model of development or lean in favor of the government proposal consisting of distributing money liberally to those loyal to the regime at the expense of fleecing those who work and pay their taxes. That is equivalent to asking children if they prefer to eat broccoli or chocolates.

The paradigm of Santa Cruz consists precisely in doing without the hand of the state, which promises everything for free, which offers the sweetness of paternalism, a scheme that always ends in disaster, as would happen with the health of any boy who feeds exclusively on sweets.

Freedom is never popular, because it requires effort, hard work and making personal decisions that are not always easy. The alternative is to give politicians the power to decide on the life of each individual, an impossible mission that inevitably leads to failure and suffering. Only those who manage to taste the flavor of the fruit of sweat and sacrifice can say which is the best option.

Fortunately, 45 percent of Bolivians have realized this and lean toward the Santa Cruz model, while 38 percent still believe in mermaid songs.
