Amparo Carvajal announces that she will remain vigilant until “she dies”

The president of the Permanent Assembly of Human Rights of Bolivia, Amparó Carvajal, reported yesterday that the Prosecutor’s Office rejected the complaint that she filed for the seizure of the premises of that instance by Edgar Salazar. However, the octogenarian activist affirmed that she will remain vigilant “until she dies.”
Due to the illegal takeover of the institution, on June 2, officials of the Apdhb denounced that they cannot declare the monthly forms to the Ministry of Labor and they could not initiate the respective procedures in the Gestora.
“We are not doing it from the previous month, nor the retroactive ones that have to be paid and the fine accumulates every day, that is worrying for the Assembly,” said one of the officials.
Despite having lost two legal resources and the rejection of the criminal complaint in the Prosecutor’s Office, the octogenarian activist assured yesterday that she will keep vigil until the last consequences and thank the people who join this fight.

La presidenta de la Asamblea Permanente de Derechos Humanos de Bolivia, Amparó Carvajal, informó ayer que la Fiscalía rechazó la denuncia que puso por la toma de los predios de esa instancia por parte de Edgar Salazar. No obstante, la octogenaria activista afirmó que seguirá en vigilia «hasta morir».
Debido a la toma ilegal de la institución, el pasado 2 de junio, funcionarios de la Apdhb, denunciaron que no pueden declarar las planillas mensuales al Ministerio de Trabajo y tampoco pudieron iniciar los trámites respectivos en la Gestora.
“No lo estamos haciendo del mes anterior, ni los retroactivos que se tiene que pagar y se va acumulando la multa por día, eso es preocupante para la Asamblea”, dijo uno de los funcionarios.
A pesar de haber perdido dos recursos jurídicos y el rechazo a la denuncia penal en la Fiscalía, la octogenaria activista, aseguró ayer que mantendrá la vigilia hasta las últimas consecuencias y agradecen a las personas que se suman a esta lucha.
