Senate approves law against subjugation
The Senate last night passed the Bill against land take overs and was derived to the lower House for examination and treatment.
The Senator of the movement toward socialism (MAS), David Sanchez, reported that the maximum sanction against the overbearing will be of up to eight years in prison, also that who is prosecuted for this crime may not be able to acquire public land within a period of ten years.
“The norm in the Chamber of Deputies will be perfectible, is going to the Chamber of Deputies, so that corrections can be made, they are now going to be the reviewing House”, said Sanchez.
He stated, also, whoever is the victim of the subjugation must submit his immediate complain in a short time, and following all the procedures, he can reclaim his property.
In the case of urban developers, even though the project does not establish a specific sentence, it could also apply the eight years in prison, everything will depend on the judicial authority that will examine the cases individually, said Sanchez.
On the other hand, he explained that the rule is not retroactive and applies only from its promulgation.
I will just comment on the last paragraph: as current gov is engaged in his illegitimate re-re-election, this sounds as “… party members are welcome to illegal take-overs until we issue this law… so its up to you whenever you go on assault, but remember who gave you the chance…”
