GOVERNMENT EXPELLED THE DANISH NGO “IBIS” FROM BOLIVIA

2013-12-20 09.52.31 amIBIS worked in recent years with organizations such as the National Council of Ayllus and Markas of the Qullasuyu (Conamaq) and the Confederation of Indigenous Peoples of Bolivia (Cidob), whose members would have been RECEIVING funding and who took a “political tutelage” to ensure they act against the Government, according to the Minister of the Presidency.

La Paz, Dec. 20 (ANF) – the Government decided this Friday [12/20/13] to expel from the country to the non-governmental organization of Danish origin IBIS, by exercising, according to the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Ramón Quintana, “political interference” on the indigenous peoples.

THREAT to other NGOs: “as well as IBIS will be today, it will go other NGO’s that have distorted its mission”, threatened Quintana and stressed that those organizations will be respected, that are “subject to the State obedience of the plurinational State”.

IBIS: According to the website of IBIS, this organization comes from Denmark and works at global, national and local level to achieve equal access to education and resources for men and women, through the impact on Africa and Latin America, where it works with grassroots organizations and its bases.
