The coming days will be marked by conflicts in various regions of the country due to fuel shortages, the economic crisis, and opposition to provisions in the General State Budget. Transporters, producers, and merchants have announced blockades and strikes, demanding solutions from the government.

In Santa Cruz, the municipalities of Concepción and Yapacaní will begin blockades on Monday, March 10, protesting the shortage of gasoline and diesel.

The Federation of Intercultural Communities of Yapacaní demanded that the government fulfill its commitments, while in Concepción, farmers and producers will indefinitely block the highway to the Santa Cruz capital due to YPFB’s failure to supply fuel.

Meanwhile, the Multisectoral Committee has called for a march starting on March 18 from Patacamaya to La Paz. Their main demands include the repeal of the additional seventh provision of the General State Budget, a solution to the dollar shortage, and the full liberalization of exports.

Additionally, transportation sectors in Santa Cruz have given the government a 48-hour deadline for ministers to address their demands; otherwise, they will begin an indefinite departmental blockade starting Wednesday, March 12.

In La Paz, transporters will evaluate the possibility of a 48-hour or even indefinite strike in response to the municipal law that repeals the fare increase.

Finally, teachers in Sucre, after an assembly held last Thursday, decided to send a delegation to La Paz to formally declare a “state of emergency” for the sector, demanding a salary increase.
