Ill will | Mala voluntad

By Fabian Freire, El Diario:

Bolivia is sinking into economic chaos, and it is undeniable that the crisis is becoming more pronounced. Many sectors of the economy are being hit, and it is clear that the government’s response is non-existent, which is incomprehensible given that Bolivia’s future is at stake.

The government of “Luchito” continues with the same old rhetoric, “we are moving forward”; but now they at least acknowledge that there are certain problems in some sectors of the economy. However, it is not enough to say that “there are certain problems”; one must have the “guts” to admit the existence of a crisis and, above all, to take measures to combat it. Nevertheless, the government has done nothing to fight the crisis; instead, its actions seem aimed at the imminent bankruptcy of our country.

It is time for the government of “Luchito” to completely change its economic policy. The socialist model has bankrupted our country, killed national enterprises, and squandered all our resources. It is impossible to continue with these economic policies for even one more day; they must be “eradicated” as quickly as possible. Otherwise, the crisis will increase significantly. If action is not taken soon and the government continues with “its bad faith,” Bolivian families will bear the consequences of government incompetence.

We are at a crucial moment in Bolivia’s history; this crisis could become even worse than the one experienced in the 1980s. It is essential to act and take appropriate measures, or Bolivia could be on the verge of becoming another Venezuela.

The first thing the government must do is recognize the existence of a crisis. To address a problem, one must acknowledge that it exists; otherwise, the appropriate measures cannot be taken. The government continues to make excuses and does not admit the existence of the crisis, and with such actions, Bolivians will end up paying the consequences.

The MAS must make a complete turn in its economic model; it is impossible to continue with its current policies. Before ideology, there is love for the nation and the duty to all Bolivians to do what is necessary to preserve Bolivia’s well-being. The bad faith of the current government shows how love for the country is not present within masismo, something that was evident from day one. Socialism will always threaten national well-being; the MAS has destroyed institutions, massively indebted the country, and attacked the Bolivian nation with its “plurinational” model.

At this crucial moment, the MAS must take emergency actions; if action is not taken in time, we will all end up regretting it. “Luchito” has a duty to the homeland to end the masista model and start implementing policies to prevent the crisis from worsening.

Enough of wastefulness, enough of bureaucracy, enough of hindering national private sectors at all levels, enough of indebtedness, and enough of denying the crisis. We are talking about a total collapse of Bolivia, a crisis that can be traumatic in all its aspects, a situation that will impoverish all Bolivians and could cause a before and after in our history. Nobody wants us to end up like Venezuela, but unfortunately, if we do not act in time, this could be our future.

The government’s bad faith is evident; it is incomprehensible that they continue to think that Bolivia is in a stable situation. We are worse than ever, and if socialism continues, everything will get worse.

The government’s duty is to seek the well-being of the Bolivian nation and its citizens. It is time to take action, not to make excuses.
