Turning the country into a barricaded nation, scaring away tourists | Ahuyentando al turista en el pais tranca

Bajo el Penoco, El Dia:

“Damn gringos”

The desperation to have money to spend on maintaining the parasitic state forces the government to do crazy things like increasing the fee paid by foreign visitors for the use of airports. The increase is brutal (from 25 to 40 dollars) and must be paid in foreign currency, which adds more seriousness to the matter. The national authorities, who always boast about the very low inflation, say that it is only an update. The worst part of all is that, to justify such barbarity, they argue that no Bolivian will be harmed and that the affected will be foreigners, those foolish tourists, those “damn” gringos and backpackers who continue to do us the favor of visiting our country, even though most of the time they have to endure roadblocks, bad roads, poor quality services, and on top of that, this nameless outrage. The “geniuses” who make these reflections don’t think for a moment and don’t realize that by scaring away tourists, they are harming the lady who sells food, the owner of a small village hostel, the taxi driver, the bicycle rental guy, the poor guide who lives day to day, and above all, the image of this “blocked” country that only welcomes drug traffickers with open arms, as the Uruguayan president said a few days ago.
