Camacho: “With this ruling by the TCP, we Bolivians ensure that no apprentice tyrant will ever again appear who tramples on the vote”
The first to react was the governor of Santa Cruz, after learning that the Constitutional Court ruled against re-election as a human right, with which Evo Morales intends to return to the presidency of the country.
“After the victory of the no vote on February 21, 2016, Evo Morales continued with his dictatorial desires, used the power he had over Justice, and making a fraudulent interpretation of the norms, alleged that indefinite re-election was a human right. And so he was enabled for the 2019 elections, where he committed fraud,” states the social media of Santa Cruz governor Luis Fernando Camacho.
The governor takes a trip back in time, recalling that the pro-Santa Cruz Committee carried out a citizen campaign “in unity with the platforms and activists to collect signatures throughout the country, and with the massive support of Bolivians, more than 500 thousand signatures that were presented by Luis Fernando Camacho and Jorge Tuto Quiroga, before the IACHR, with the sponsorship of the government of Iván Duke, president of Colombia.”
He also recalled that the request for interpretation was requested from the Government of Brazil, since both countries were guarantors of our Constitution. That is why Camacho traveled to Brazil and Colombia to make these efforts for our democracy.
On May 5, 2021, the IACHR ruled and made it clear that reelection was not a human right. And today the TCP, fails definitively, relying on that ruling of the IACHR and determines that, according to the Constitution of the Plurinational State, in Bolivia only continuous or discontinuous reelection is allowed and, therefore, there is no indefinite reelection.
“This is an achievement of all Bolivians. Of those who in the name of the principles of democracy mobilized, signed their name and took to the streets to defend it,” Camacho highlights.
“With this TCP ruling, we Bolivians ensure that no apprentice tyrant will ever appear again who tramples on the vote, ignores a referendum, commits fraud, with the sole intention of perpetuating himself in power. Democracy always triumphs, dictators are surpassed and judged by history”.

El primero en reaccionar fue el gobernador cruceño, tras conocerse que el Tribunal Constitucional falló contra la reelección como derecho humano, con el que Evo Morales pretende volver a la presidencia del país
“Después del triunfo del no el 21 de febrero del 2016, Evo Morales siguió adelante con sus afanes dictatoriales, usó el poder que tenía sobre la Justicia, y haciendo una interpretación dolosa de las normas, alegó que la reelección indefinida era un derecho humano. Y así se habilitó para las elecciones de 2019, donde hizo fraude“, se lee en las cuentas del gobernador cruceño Luis Fernando Camacho.
El gobernador hace un recorrido al pasado, haciendo recuerdo que desde el Comité pro Santa Cruz se hizo una campaña ciudadana “en unidad con las plataformas y activistas para recolectar firmas en todo el país, y con el apoyo masivo de los bolivianos se reunieron más de 500 mil firmas que fueron presentadas por Luis Fernando Camacho y Jorge Tuto Quiroga, ante la CIDH, con el patrocinio del gobierno de Iván Duke, presidente de Colombia”.
Recordó también que se solicitó al Gobierno de Brasil el pedido de interpretación, toda vez que ambos países fueron garantes de nuestra Constitución. Por ello Camacho viajó hasta Brasil y Colombia para hacer estas gestiones por nuestra democracia.
El 05 de mayo de 2021, la CIDH se pronunció y dejó en claro que la reelección no era un derecho humano. Y hoy el TCP, falla de forma definitiva, amparándose en esa sentencia de la CIDH y determina que, de acuerdo a la Constitución del Estado Plurinacional, en Bolivia solo se permite una reelección continua o discontinua y, por lo tanto, no hay reelección indefinida.
“Este es un logro de todos los bolivianos. De aquellos que en nombre de los principios de la democracia se movilizaron, plasmaron su firma y salieron a las calles a defenderla”, resalta Camacho.
“Con este fallo del TCP, los bolivianos nos aseguramos de que nunca más aparezca algún aprendiz de tirano que pisotee el voto, desconozca un referendo, haga fraude, con la sola intención de perpetuarse en el poder. La democracia triunfa siempre, los dictadores son sobrepasados y juzgados por la historia”.
