Artimañas sobre un golpe inexistente
Evo Morales estaba muy asustado cuando huyó del país como para pensar en dar vuelta la tortilla, reescribir la historia de lo sucedido en noviembre del 2019, y hacer creer a todo el mundo que lo había derribado un golpe de Estado. Morales no había escuchado ni un solo disparo, no vio a un solo militar con uniforme de combate, no lo aterrorizó oír por radio la emblemática marcha “Talacocha”, pero llegó al Chapare asustadísimo, al extremo que pensó que el piloto del avión presidencial lo estaba llevando a un hangar donde se encontraría con militares con cara de perros que lo torturarían. Cuando vio que la cuestión no era así, que no lo colgarían como a Villarroel, lloró emocionado. Y cuando lloró él, también lloró su “alter ego”, García Linera. Estaban a salvo.
Evo Morales había escapado de La Paz, abandonándolo todo, porque sabía que su estafa electoral había sido descubierta, y porque ya no se trataba que la “derecha” reclamara por la trampa, sino porque el Informe de la OEA era contundente: habían existido graves irregularidades, es decir, fraude. A tal extremo quedó en evidencia su montaje mafioso, que, desesperado, para ganar tiempo, quiso anular las elecciones e ir a nuevos comicios, con él de candidato, naturalmente. Pero el pueblo boliviano ya no lo soportaba. Olía mal. Y desde Santa Cruz le llegó un ultimátum inapelable de rendición.
Sin embargo, el poder para quienes lo han disfrutado a plenitud, es delirante, envicia. El delirio paranoide de Evo Morales, pasado el susto, no resistió la primera sugerencia de retornar al poder. ¿Pero cómo? ¿Cómo volver si había huido sin oír ni un tiro y abandonando a su gente? ¿Él, que había impuesto el guevarista y desafiante “patria o muerte”? Era necesario dar vuelta la tortilla, reinventar la historia de inmediato, y mostrarse como víctima de un “putsch”. Recurriendo a todos los ardides, cambiar la idea de fraude por golpe. Para eso existía una condición esencial: había que hacer que todos en el país hablaran solamente del golpe de Estado y no del fraude.
Había que encarcelar, sin juicio ni nada, a la insurgente principal: Jeanine Áñez. No interesaba si era culpable de algo o no. Lo importante era que la nación entera lo supiera. Y en el exterior también. Aprehender a sus ministros, viceministros, directores, a todos quienes hubieran tenido un lugar en el “gobierno de facto”. Había que sentar ejemplo para que nadie, nunca más, participara de una administración que no fuera masista.
Se dijo que la OEA, sumisa al imperialismo (léase Estados Unidos), había colaborado con el alzamiento. Que la Unión Europea y la ONU estaban muy lejos como para saber lo que había sucedido en Bolivia. Mas todo esto resultaba insuficiente. Lo del fraude electoral es tan obvio que no se puede trocar por un inexistente cuartelazo. Ahí apareció lo que los masistas podrían llamar “la solución argentina”.
No vamos a entrar al detalle de la misteriosa carta encontrada en la correspondencia ordinaria de la embajada platense, que ha producido todo este escándalo, porque sobre el tema ya se han escrito miles de páginas y se ha gastado mucha saliva. Solo sabemos que se trata de una intriga maquiavélica que encaja perfectamente con el propósito de Evo Morales, enfebrecido por que se hable de los militares y del golpe de Estado. Claro que, esta vez, involucrando al gobierno de Mauricio Macri, en una supuesta ayuda militar a la señora Jeanine Áñez para contener a tiros a la poblada que saldría en defensa del régimen masista derrumbándose.
La dichosa carta, de dudosa procedencia por donde se la mire, es una muestra de hasta dónde puede llegar la angurria de poder de una persona. Y cómo, para lograr ese objetivo, lo que menos importa es crear desconfianza y hacer peligrar la amistad entre dos naciones. Bolivianos y argentinos hemos caído en la mentira, la calumnia vil y la impostura, para ocuparnos de algo sin sentido, sobre lo que no vale la pena ni siquiera llevarse un disgusto y lo mejor es dar vuelta la página.

Shenanigans about a nonexistent coup
Evo Morales was very scared when he fled the country to think of turning the tables, rewriting the history of what happened in November 2019, and making everyone believe that he had been overthrown by a coup d’état. Morales had not heard a single shot, he did not see a single military man in combat uniform, he was not terrified of hearing the emblematic “Talacocha” march on the radio, but he arrived at Chapare terribly scared, to the point that he thought the pilot of the presidential plane he was taking to a hangar where he would meet dog-faced military men who would torture him. When he saw that it was not like that, that they would not hang him like Villarroel, he cried excitedly. And when he cried, his “alter ego,” García Linera, also cried. They were safe.
Evo Morales had escaped from La Paz, abandoning everything, because he knew that his electoral fraud had been discovered, and because it was no longer a matter of the “right” claiming the cheating, but because the OAS Report was conclusive: there had been serious irregularities, that is, fraud. To such an extreme the mafia setup of him was evident that, desperate, to gain time, he wanted to annul the elections and go to new elections, with him as a candidate, of course. But the Bolivian people could no longer bear him. He smelled bad. And from Santa Cruz came a final ultimatum of surrender.
However, power for those who have fully enjoyed it is delusional, addicted. The paranoid delusion of Evo Morales, after the scare, did not resist the first suggestion to return to power. But how? How to return if he had fled without hearing a shot and abandoning his people? He, who had imposed the defiant Guevarista “fatherland or death”? It was necessary to turn the tables, reinvent history immediately, and show oneself as the victim of a “putsch”. Using all the tricks, change the idea of fraud for coup. For that there was an essential condition: it was necessary to make everyone in the country talk only about the coup and not about fraud.
The main insurgent: Jeanine Áñez had to be imprisoned, without trial or anything. It didn’t matter if she was guilty of something or not. The important thing was that the entire nation knew about it. And abroad too. To apprehend her ministers, vice ministers, directors, all those who had a place in the “de facto government.” It was necessary to set an example so that no one, ever again, participated in an administration that was not masista.
It was said that the OAS, submissive to imperialism (read the United States), had collaborated with the uprising. That the European Union and the UN were too far away to know what had happened in Bolivia. But all this was insufficient. The electoral fraud is so obvious that it cannot be exchanged for a non-existent coup. There appeared what the masistas could call “the Argentine solution.”
We are not going to go into the detail of the mysterious letter found in the ordinary correspondence of the platense embassy, which has produced all this scandal, because thousands of pages have already been written on the subject and a lot of saliva has been spent. We only know that it is a Machiavellian intrigue that fits perfectly with the purpose of Evo Morales, feverish because of the talk of the military and the coup d’état. Of course, this time, involving the government of Mauricio Macri, in an alleged military aid to Mrs. Jeanine Áñez to contain at gunshots to the people that would come out in defense of the collapsing Masista regime.
The charming letter, of doubtful origin wherever you look at it, is a sample of how far the anguish of power of a person can go. And how, to achieve that goal, the least important thing is to create mistrust and endanger the friendship between two nations. Bolivians and Argentines have fallen into lies, vile slander and imposture, to deal with something nonsensical, about which it is not worth even being upset and it is best to turn the page.
