Under this ochlocracy, read how Bolivia lost its rights!

Carlos Valverde writes in El Deber:

Full triangle! [the triangle is complete]

Carlos ValverdeThe authoritarian power uses the resource that has at its disposal to have more power; goes to the Constitution when it can and makes laws that also suits them. In the case of the Bolivian constitutional power, the President Evo Morales, instead of basing his actions on democratic institutions, to understand the separation of powers, the inter-institutional respect and others, uses two powers that be: institutional one, as the armed forces, and the other, created by him (social movements), to “advance in the construction of an entelechy called pluri-national State”.

“Factual powers?”. It may sound strong, but it is a fact that the armed forces are now a factual power that have taken non-constitutional roles and even a partisan and militant position not only in relation to government policies, but in the construction of the “evista” [from the name Evo] pluri-national state; i.e., they are armed forces of the process, rather than of the State. Social movements, on the other hand, are, for years, the base of political power on the street and on the roads; they are ‘pro governmental’ organizations that have power and exert pressure to have decisions made above the legally constituted, as the multinational Assembly power. Recently, the government,  just announced the increase of 31.5% of personnel in the armed forces and the Vice President went out to ‘clarify’ that are conscripts, what are going to be increased in number and not ‘official’ and, of course, therein lies the crux of the matter; the power need few ‘officers’ (they are more controllable) and more troop. Finally, what is used on the street are conscripts; it is a fact, political power is increasing its armed repressive and deterrent force for the future.

The reader should be aware that already they have the two strength feet out on the street; the side of the social movements are a very compact, fanaticized and conveniently became a directed force and, on the other hand, there is the armed forces, repressive, with high capacity for mobilization and ‘headquarters’ in every major city. I think that the power shut down the tripod or triangle: has a suitable democratic varnish that uses at its leisure (Executive, Legislative, Judicial and Electoral powers), social movements and armed forces; thus it comes the election year. It won’t be easy for anyone, except for the power.

How to endure further? the lack of independence among the powers of the state? the rule of law? the freedom of speech? the freedom of the press? political persecution? increased corruption, narcotraffick and anarchy?!
