TIPNIS: Foreign Affairs minister Choquehuanca released…

This morning a group of women from the TIPNIS protest-walk group, took Foreign Affairs minister, David Choquehuanca and vice-minister for Social Movements, Cesar Navarro as “shields” in an attempt to break the police fence. Group has released (13:15 hours) government officials (after three hours) and is now around 500 meters away from Yucumo. A kilometer away from the group, the coca growers (settlers) are exploding dynamite.

Los Tiempos reports:  The president for Subcentral TIPNIS, Fernando Vargas stated that vice-minister for governmental coordination, Wilfredo Chavez acted in a cowardly and disloyal manner when he flew away from the conflict and left his minister and the other member of the commission. The indigenous group was upset because the government tried to include the settlers in the negotiating table.

Events are escalating, and still current president does not show significant signs to overcome this conflict.
