Today Santa Cruz celebrates its 201 years from the time it began its fight for independence. This photo, taken by El Dia best represents what Santa Cruz is for Bolivia: the future, and hope for better days.

Santa Cruz has become the La Paz from last century, the Sucre from the previous one; it is now the economic and production engine that moves Bolivia forward, despite many problems. Just as an example, Santa Cruz produces up to 72% of all the food for the Bolivian market; its people is friendly and over the years has accepted immigration with open arms. So come over! visit us and if you are hard worker, would like to find a better place to live in, stay!
