The TSE’s electoral officer confirmed that the mandatory event will be held in El Alto with the participation of four candidates.

Tahuichi Tahuichi, a member of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), confirmed on Monday night that the second stage of the Presidential Debate will be held this Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. at the studios of RTP television channel in the city of El Alto.
“We have determined, through the Plenary Chamber, to adopt this policy: presidential debates must be mandatory. In that sense, the Plenary decided that the presidential debate will take place this August 12. It will be conducted by a media outlet with open broadcast, and three thematic areas will be discussed: economy, health, and security,” said Tahuichi.
The officer added that the debate will last until approximately 11:00 p.m. at RTP’s studios in El Alto and will feature the participation of those candidates who attend.
“At this moment, four presidential candidates are confirmed: Andrónico Rodríguez, Eduardo Del Castillo, Pavel Aracena, and Rodrigo Paz. They have confirmed their participation,” Tahuichi reported.
The electoral body stated that the event will include the participation of political organizations and alliances competing in the 2025 general elections and will be broadcast nationwide on open television.
The TSE reiterated that the debate is part of the official electoral calendar and aims to ensure that citizens directly learn about the presidential candidates’ proposals.

El vocal del Tribunal Supremo Electoral (TSE) Tahuichi Tahuichi confirmó la noche de este lunes, que la segunda etapa del Debate Presidencial se llevará a cabo este martes 12 de agosto de 2025 a las 20:00 horas en los estudios del canal de televisión RTP ubicados en la ciudad de El Alto.
“Hemos determinado con Sala Plena adoptar esta política, el debate presidencial deben ser obligatorios, en esa medida Sala Plena decidió que el debate presidencial se realice este 12 de agosto. Estará a cargo de un medio de comunicación con señal abierta, se discutirá tres ejes temáticos: economía, salud y seguridad”, dijo Tahuichi.
El vocal agregó que el debate será aproximadamente hasta las 23:00 horas en los estudios de RTP, ubicado en la ciudad de El Alto y contará con la participación de los candidatos que se hagan presentes.
“En este momento está confirmado cuatro candidatos presidenciales: Andrónico Rodríguez, Eduardo Del Castillo, Pavel Aracena y Rodrigo Paz. (Ellos) han confirmad continuar con el debate”, informó Tahuichi.
La institución electoral informó que el evento contará con la participación de las organizaciones políticas y alianzas que compiten en las elecciones generales de 2025, y será transmitido por señal abierta para todo el país.
El TSE reiteró que el debate forma parte del calendario oficial del proceso electoral y busca garantizar que la ciudadanía conozca de manera directa las propuestas de los candidatos a la Presidencia.
