The presidential candidate for Nueva Generación Patriótica (NGP), Jaime Dunn, criticized a poll released this Sunday and stated that including Andrónico Rodríguez in it while excluding him “violates the principle of electoral equality.”

“NGP is legally registered as a party. My candidacy is in process, with no objections or formal rejection. Andrónico Rodríguez: his party, Movimiento Tercer Sistema (MTS), is under observation and his candidacy formally suspended by the TSE. So: including Andrónico and excluding me lacks technical basis and violates the principle of electoral equality,” Dunn stated on the social media platform X.

He also recalled that Law 026 of the Electoral Regime and its regulations require all organizations and candidacies in equivalent conditions to be included in polls, “without distinction or discrimination of any kind.”

“There is no rule that requires a candidate to be already registered in order to appear in a poll. This creates an effect of statistical censorship, distorts public perception, and undermines political pluralism,” complained the liberal candidate.

Some analysts believe that if the poll includes people who are not officially registered as candidates—such as Rodríguez, due to the pending issue with Movimiento Tercer Sistema—it will lose statistical validity, distort actual voting intentions, and open the door to political manipulation.
