The dollar remains high, but with a downward trend

After the digital dollar reached a historic peak of Bs 20 on May 15, the trend of this cryptocurrency has been downward; however, its price still remains high.

According to platforms that operate with cryptoassets such as USDT, the U.S. currency dropped from Bs 20, its rate a week ago, to Bs 18.04 this Wednesday at 8:27 a.m. (HB).

The information was published on Mauricio Foronda’s monitoring platform (mauforonda.github.io), which updates the exchange rate in real time.

The same platform shows that the rate has been trending downward for a week. Still, it remains high compared to the beginning of this month, when the exchange was around Bs 15.

According to information published on the website of the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB), which uses USDT as a reference in tracking the digital dollar, the average value of the digital dollar was Bs 17.68 at the close of May 20.

Meanwhile, a day earlier, the black market or street exchange rate for buying dollars was around Bs 17.50.
