The dollar in exchange houses and among money changers is quoted at up to Bs 11.5 for sale and Bs 11.30 for purchase, according to data collected by Brújula Digital during a survey.

This digital outlet visited eight exchange houses and consulted money changers in the city center on Monday, confirming that the dollar in the black market is sold at a price 65.9% higher than the official rate, while the purchase price is 64.7% above it.

According to the Central Bank of Bolivia, the dollar should be priced at Bs 6.96 for sale and Bs 6.86 for purchase.

The dollar’s selling price recorded on Monday in the places visited ranged between Bs 11.30 and Bs 11.55. In two exchange houses, it was offered at Bs 11.30, in one at Bs 11.35, another at Bs 11.40, three at Bs 11.50, and two reached Bs 11.55. One of the places visited had no dollars available for sale.

In eight exchange houses, the dollar’s price varied between Bs 10, Bs 10.50, Bs 11, and Bs 11.30, regardless of the denomination.

For over a year, the country has faced a dollar shortage that has caused price instability. In August, the dollar reached Bs 14 for sale, decreased to Bs 10 in September, and is now rising again.
