Police allow civilians to carry shields in defense of Arce, two years ago they arrested 8 “shield bearers”

Meanwhile, the police officers simply observed them without prohibiting or stopping them, as if they were providing “civil security.” These security lines were set up in anticipation of a potential attempt by the march organized by the opposition to reach the political center in La Paz.

At that time, the Ministry of Government allegedly claimed they found dynamite, but the families of the young people denied this, stating that some only had firecrackers, which are commonly used in protests.
After the clashes in Ventilla on Sunday, the Arce government mobilized its allied organizations and public employees in Plaza Murillo for a vigil. ANF learned that several ministries instructed their personnel to move to Kilometer 0.

Además, los jóvenes, muchos de ellos, llevaban cascos o gorras, pasamontañas o barbijos, gafas y guantes, ocuparon la calle de extremo a extremo. En tanto que los policías se replegaron hacia las paredes.
Los “escuderos” tienen que ser afines al gobierno para no ser detenidos. La Policía permitió que civiles porten escudos artesanales para “resguardar” la Casa grande del Pueblo; pero hace dos años a jóvenes que tenían similares escudos los detuvieron.
A vista de los policías, como otra guardia civil, jóvenes afines al gobierno de Luis Arce pudieron operar sin ningún problema en los alrededores de la plaza Murillo. Es más, se colocaron en apronte con escudos pintados de azul y rojo.
Mientras tanto, los efectivos policiales solo los observaron, sin prohibirles ni impedirles, se colocaron como si fueran una “seguridad civil”. Se armó esos cordones de seguridad ante la posibilidad de la que marcha evista intente llegar al centro político en La Paz.

Mientras en esta oportunidad el grupo de varones “se armó” con estos escudos para “cuidar” la Casa grande del Pueblo y al gobierno de Luis Arce; hace dos años, los efectivos detuvieron a jóvenes que participaban de una marcha de médicos en contra del gobierno, ellos portaban similares escudos.
Incluso el tema de portar estos escudos en una movilización fue objeto de cuestionamiento del presidente Luis Arce, “el otro día, el jueves, vimos que, lamentablemente, están volviendo los escudos”, sostuvo en una declaración el 23 de julio de 2022.
Esa vez, supuestamente el Ministerio de Gobierno dijo que halló dinamitas, pero los familiares de los jóvenes negaron ese extremo porque lo que algunos tenían eran petardos, muy usados en las movilizaciones.
El gobierno de Arce después de los enfrentamientos en Ventilla, este domingo, concentró a sus organizaciones afines y a funcionarios públicos en la plaza Murillo, en una actitud de vigilia. ANF supo que en varios ministerios les instruyeron a desplazarse a Km 0.
