According to the report, these blockades are affecting five departments.

According to the national government, there are a total of 57 blockade points in five departments; four of which are due to sectoral demands, and the rest are in response to the strike called by the Bolivian Chamber of International Transport, which demands a solution to the fuel shortage and the resignation of four national authorities.

The affected departments are: Oruro, Cochabamba, Chuquisaca, Santa Cruz, and La Paz.

Oruro

Fifteen blockade points were reported, six of which are in the city; among them, two are due to local demands and the rest are related to fuel issues.

In Cochabamba

There were 23 blockade points, eight in the capital city and 15 on different road sections of the department.

In Chuquisaca

Sucre reported at least 15 blocked intersections, 14 of which are in the city and one on the highway.

Santa Cruz

According to the Government, there were two blockade points in Santa Cruz: in Cuatro Cañadas and San Julián, by producers demanding the use of biotechnology.

La Paz

Only one blockade point was reported, specifically in Achacachi, Omasuyos province.

ABC Report

There are 57 blockade points, of which 28 occurred in cities and 29 on highways, according to the Bolivian Road Administrator (ABC), a division that is part of the Interministerial Committee to solve the diesel problem.

The president of ABC, Marcel Claure, stated that the city blockades hindered the logistics of fuel distribution in Cochabamba and Oruro, so YPFB personnel had to take alternative routes.

“Clearly, whatever comes through Peru and even Arica will have problems on the road; there are two or three blockades there,” he stated in relation to the blockade on the highway that connects the Pacific ports with Bolivian cities.

The President’s Word

President Luis Arce confirmed that this Thursday, the unloading of fuels will begin at the Sica Sica terminal in Arica and the transport in tankers to start its commercialization from Saturday, provided that the heavy transport lifts the blockade points.

The pressure measure, which will continue until this Friday, also caused the suspension of land travel, causing discomfort among the population.

One of the blockades was lifted this Wednesday

In the case of the Bolivian-Japanese Friendship Bridge, located between the Santa Cruz municipalities of Montero and Portachuelo, the Police cleared the area using tear gas.
