More than 20 painters present the ‘Fragile Fauna’ collection that captures the beauty and vulnerability of animals in danger of extinction in the country from an artistic perspective.

Within the framework of the second call for the Promotion of Cultural Productivity and Artistic Creation 2024, the Center of the Cultural Revolution (CRC), dependent on the Cultural Foundation of the Central Bank of Bolivia (FC-BCB) and the Departmental Directorate of Cultures and Tourism of Cochabamba are preparing the opening of the collective engraving exhibition ‘Fragile Fauna’ on July 10 at the Departmental House of Cultures.

In response to deforestation, habitat loss and human interactions that bring numerous species to the brink of extinction, ‘Fauna Frágil”s main objective is to contribute to the awareness and preservation of biodiversity in Bolivia and highlight its beauty and fragility. of 24 representative animals of the country.

FROM ART TO ACTION

Celebrating the country’s great biological diversity and promoting the adoption of responsible and sustainable practices to protect vulnerable species, the artistic exhibition can be seen by the Cochabamba public from July 10 at 7:00 p.m.

“More than just raising awareness, the proposal seeks to inspire action, promoting a collective effort towards responsible and sustainable practices that contribute to the preservation of endangered species,” said Rocío Olguín, head of the project.

BOOST TO PRODUCTION

With works by 24 artists that capture in prints the beauty and vulnerability of animals in danger of extinction ranging from the Andean condor to the quirquincho, the exhibition is developed within the framework of the aforementioned CRC call, launched in November 2023, as traveling space to promote and stimulate cultural production and artistic creation that has the objective of promoting the management of cultural activities and spaces, at the national level, to promote meetings and dialogue with sectors, cultural organizations, groups, individual artists and groups .

THE MANAGEMENT

The person responsible for carrying out this project is the graphic designer Rocío Olguín, whose commitment to design and social impact is reflected in her work that includes her participation in projects such as the implementation of workshops in several cities in the country with ‘Alternative Engraving’ and her role as designer in the ‘Misioneritas  Bolivia’ program,

Currently, she works as a graphic designer at the Aguayo Foundation, which works to guarantee human rights in Bolivia and promotes a life free of violence for children, youth and women through sociocultural practices.
