The motives for carrying out the criminal and civil proceedings against the opposition deputy Erwin Bazán, Creemos, by the Minister of Government, Eduardo Del Castillo, are the complaints of corruption, drug trafficking in political power and his “anti-masista” party affiliation, the legislator stated yesterday.

“This process on the instructions of the Minister of Government, Eduardo Del Castillo, is because I have been denouncing corruption and drug trafficking; but, fundamentally because I am ‘anti-masista’, that clear. It is a political process,” he said.

Bazán made these statements in time to deliver a complaint against the judge of the criminal case, Carlos Alberto Moreira, in charge of the 15th Criminal Sentencing Court, before the Council of the Judiciary, the comptroller and administration body of the judicial.

He recalled that the purpose of the complaint dates back to September 2021, due to his expressions about the act of disrespect and aggression towards the Department of Santa Cruz within the framework of the celebration of official events held in the main square of the capital during its anniversary.

He pointed out that the forced criminal trial, violating the Political Constitution of the State (CPE) art. 151, has no other objective than to silence his work of monitoring and reporting corrupt acts.

“In the face of injustice and political persecution, we stand up because we are good citizens,” Bazán said emphatically, after announcing that his next hearing, within this criminal process, was scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2024.

“The Minister of Government has decided to use justice as a weapon of political persecution as he has already done with Luis Fernando Camacho, the Antezana brothers of Cochabamba, with Cesar Apaza, coca leader of Yungas, and now he is doing it against me,” He confronted the Minister of State.
