Fear of Santa Cruz | Miedo a Santa Cruz

Editorial, El Dia:

The central government has always been afraid of Santa Cruz, much more than the neighboring countries that have usurped extensive territories from the country and have fought it in bloody wars. Watches over it better than anyone, with police and military who neglect the borders, who let the drug traffickers work as they please and the smugglers do their thing, but who do not let anyone raise their head in the department, which they treat as if It was an enemy, a colony, a pack mule, whose sole purpose is to work to maintain the failed Andean-centric state, increasingly unproductive and incompetent but very effective when it comes to controlling power through parasitic mafias with great capacity for mobilization. and without the slightest scruples, since their survival depends precisely on their sinister behavior.

Santa Cruz does not represent a military threat, far from it; separatism has been the eternal excuse to justify the declaration of constant war against the region, and it is not that Santa Cruz people have the political vocation to dispute the hegemony of the Andean elites, although in In recent times, the MAS forced them to assume a more determined position in this regard and fear has turned into terror.

The Andean rulers are afraid of Santa Cruz’s rebellion, its incorruptible defense of freedom, its indomitable vocation to create a more dignified space and its nonconformity for living in an unviable country, which it supports despite the hostility of the enemies of progress, those who love to suffer and consider lamentation, misery and backwardness part of the “Bolivian culture”.

In 2019, Santa Cruz showed what it is capable of doing when the abuse of the colonizers reaches the intolerable, since not even the right to life was guaranteed, much less property, freedom or the guarantee of political participation in the democratic framework, as happens today, since Luis Arce follows the same slogan of Álvaro García Linera, who prohibited the people of Santa Cruz from doing anything other than producing with our heads down, without demanding and much less demanding from the regime what that corresponds to you for your contribution. It got to the point that Santa Cruz residents were prohibited from singing their own anthem, freely practicing their beliefs, and openly expressing their culture. All, with the consent of those who decided to bend their necks and surrender to those we have always called adventurers who have led this country adrift.

The saddest thing is that the people of Santa Cruz themselves are afraid of Santa Cruz. We are not talking about the common citizen, who has given ample evidence of its courage and tenacity, but about the leaders who are not aware of the strength of this region, of what it is capable of achieving, not only for the well-being of the inhabitants of the region. department, but of the entire country, because if in this land we lower our heads again, Bolivia has no future.

Santa Cruz is still standing
