Coup case: Opposition sees pressure, blackmail and fatigue so that former Añez ministers accuse themselves

Two former ministers of Jeanine Añez requested an abbreviated process in the case called “coup d’état I”, after admitting that they engaged in a cover-up.

La Paz, November 30, 2023 (ANF). – The deputies of Comunida Ciudadana (Citizen Community – CC) Luisa Nayar and José Manuel Ormachea indicated that former ministers Álvaro Coímbra and Rodrigo Guzmán suffered “pressure, blackmail and fatigue” to incriminate themselves in the “coup d’état I” case.

Nayar, second vice president of the Chamber of Deputies, stressed that the personal decision made by the two former authorities was due to pressure from the justice system and the Government to reinforce the theory of the “coup d’état.”

“Here we have no doubt that in 2019 there was a gigantic electoral fraud and that what has been happening with these two former ministers and with former authorities of the Armed Forces has been a result of pressure, blackmail and the search of fatigue on the part of the Government (against those investigated),” Nayar declared to the ANF.
