Those “radicals” … | Esos “radicales” …

Editorial, El Dia:

Why is socialism so popular, despite the fact that it necessarily has to resort to force to impose its precepts, to carry out its great ideals of prosperity, equality, well-being, social justice, the common good and blah, blah.

Why are liberalism and capitalism so hated, why is nobody defending them and why are the few who stand up for the free market branded as radical, far-right, weird, crazy and a series of epithets attributed to it, for example, the Argentine Javier Milei.

When talking about socialism, no one refers to the 150 million deaths that it has caused in just over a century, to the genocides in China, the Soviet Union, Cambodia, Eastern Europe, to humanitarian catastrophes, famines, and economic disasters. that caused and continues to cause right under our noses.

When they talk about capitalism and “dirty neoliberals”, very few remember that before the flowering of this system, before the industrial revolution, before Adam Smith, Locke and Queen Victoria, more than 80 percent of the people lived in misery, hidden in the fields, suffering the slavery of rural work, suffering from incurable diseases, above all, ignorance and submission to destiny marked forever by origin and belonging to a caste.

Human civilization began ten thousand years ago, but only with the flourishing of capitalism did multiplication take place, which not only helped to satisfy the hunger of those who were already there, but also the impressive deluge that followed, with an exponential growth of the population that occurred thanks to the simple fact that people began to eat better, diseases decreased, life became less difficult and longer. In Europe, the average lifespan in the 19th century was less than 40 years and is currently close to 80.

The most recalcitrant liberal does not teach anything that a mother does not instill in her children: “Strive so that you can prosper”, “do not be envious of others”, “work hard to progress”, “do not wait for someone else to come and solve your problems”, “no one is going to come from heaven or anywhere to feed you”, “don’t compare yourself with others, do your own thing”, “you are the only one responsible for your destiny”, “don’t blame others for your own mistakes”, etc, etc.

Socialism hates the family and wants to destroy it because it teaches the opposite, especially to the poor, to whom it transmits the idea that they are not responsible for their destiny, they are not capable of coming out of their prostration and that they must Trust in a righteous ruler who will be in charge of imposing equality by fire and blood.

That the poor and illiterate think that way is understandable. Official education has been brainwashing them for centuries and with an empty stomach no one organizes revolutions. The revolutionaries are always bourgeois, well-dressed gentlemen and well maintained by someone else’s hand, with enough time to continue thinking about prolonging the formula of living without working. Someone has arrived in Argentina who wants to ruin the party for the freeloaders and they are going to want to kill him.
