Juan Antonio Morales, PhD who served 11 years as President of the Central Bank of Bolivia was sent to jail yesterday, as a result of a trial that questions bonuses paid out of “reserved expenses” in previous governments. Another 15 former public officials are also being scrutinized.
Morales, one of the best economists Bolivia has, attended on his own to the trial, he said he served Bolivia in his best possible way; all that he did was in accordance to existing laws.

I am afraid that this type of “actions” are a sick attempt to divert public opinion from pressing issues like the TIPNIS road; lack of hydrocarbon’s investments; uncontrolled fires; and narcotrafficking.
