THE “MIRROR EFFECT” CAN NOW BE SEEN AT THE SALAR DE UYUNI IN POTOSÍ

With the arrival of the rainy season, the Salar de Uyuni is already displaying the “Mirror Effect,” which occurs when rainwater remains on the salt flat, allowing it to reflect the sky and create an image that is only possible during this season.
The Director of Tourism and Culture of the Uyuni Municipal Government, Omar Pérez, reported that in recent days there has already been an increase in the flow of tourists, despite the situation the country is experiencing due to changes in fuel prices.
“We are already facing one of the most beautiful times that the Salar de Uyuni has to offer everyone: the ‘Mirror Effect,’ where there is a perfect fusion of sky and earth. Since last year, since the holiday that was decreed, there has been an interesting flow of tourists, including Latin Americans,” he said.
During this season, the salt flat is visited by domestic tourists as well as visitors from Peru, Chile, and other neighboring countries.
Pérez noted that due to the increase in visitor numbers, everyone wants to witness this natural wonder. “The ‘Mirror Effect’ is something highly anticipated. Tourists from Asia come only at this time of year to be able to see these beautiful images. There are agencies that specialize in providing this type of service; they have the equipment needed to offer safety to visitors,” he added.

Con la llegada de la temporada de lluvias, el Salar de Uyuni ya muestra el “Efecto espejo”, que se genera cuando el agua de las lluvias permanece en el salar permitiendo reflejar el cielo, creando una imagen que solo es posible en esta temporada.
El director de Turismo y Cultura de la Alcaldía de Uyuni, Omar Pérez, informó que ya desde los últimos días del año tuvieron el aumento del flujo de turistas, pese a la situación que el país atraviesa por el cambio en los precios del combustible.
“Ya estamos afrontando una de las épocas más bonitas que tiene el Salar de Uyuni, que nos ofrece a todos: el “Efecto espejo”, donde hay una fusión perfecta del cielo y la tierra, ya desde la gestión pasada, desde el feriado que se ha decretado se ha tenido un flujo interesante de turistas que también son latinos”, dijo.
En esta temporada visitan el salar turistas nacionales, visitantes de Perú, Chile, entre otros países cercanos.
Pérez señaló que por el aumento en la afluencia de visitantes, todos quieren presenciar esta maravilla natural. “El ‘Efecto espejo’ es algo muy esperado. Turistas de Asia vienen solo en esta época para poder ver estas hermosas imágenes. Se tienen las agencias que tienen la especialidad para hacer este tipo de servicios, cuentan con equipamiento para que puedan ofrecer seguridad a los visitantes”, agregó.
