According to unofficial reports, this group allegedly arrived in the early hours of August 5 without passing through Immigration control, prompting suspicion among passengers who took photographs of the presumed foreigners.

The president of the Pro Santa Cruz Civic Committee, Stello Cochamanidis, stated that in recent hours, letters were sent to the Ministry of Government, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, the Office of the Attorney General, and other agencies, requesting information about the alleged arrival of around 200 Venezuelan citizens in Bolivia through Viru Viru Airport in Santa Cruz.
Unofficial reports indicate that this group arrived in the early hours of August 5 without passing through Immigration control, arousing concern among passengers who photographed the presumed foreigners. Cochamanidis said that the requests were also sent via courier to the Ministry of Government in La Paz, so that the National Immigration Service can clarify the reasons for their entry.
The leader specified that the letters were also sent to the Departmental Court of Justice, the Supreme Court of Justice, the District Prosecutor, and the Attorney General, with the aim of adding them to the investigations.
“We want to know the purpose of this visit, what activities they will carry out, and what their destination will be. What is most striking is that these types of charter flight arrivals are happening frequently, right before the national elections,” Cochamanidis said, according to a report from Erbol-Santa Cruz.
He noted that the civic movement’s concern grows with the approach of the national elections on August 17. In the 2019 elections, similar arrivals of foreigners occurred in dates close to the vote, when acts of electoral fraud were reported, tarnishing that process.

El presidente del Comité Cívico pro Santa Cruz, Stello Cochamanidis, informó que en las últimas horas se remitieron notas al Ministerio de Gobierno, al Tribunal Supremo Electoral, a la Fiscalía General del Estado y a otras instancias, solicitando información sobre la presunta llegada de cerca de 200 ciudadanos venezolanos a Bolivia por el aeropuerto de Viru Viru, en Santa Cruz.
Según reportes extraoficiales, este grupo habría arribado la madrugada del 5 de agosto sin pasar por el control de Migración, lo que generó susceptibilidad entre pasajeros que captaron fotografías de los presuntos extranjeros. Cochamanidis indicó que las solicitudes también fueron enviadas, vía courier, al Ministerio de Gobierno en La Paz, a fin de que el Servicio Nacional de Migración aclare los motivos de este ingreso.
El dirigente precisó que las misivas fueron igualmente remitidas al Tribunal Departamental de Justicia, al Tribunal Supremo de Justicia, al Fiscal de Distrito y al Fiscal General del Estado, con el objetivo de que se sumen a las indagaciones.
“Queremos saber cuál es el objeto de esta visita, qué actividades realizarán y cuál será el destino de estas personas. Lo más llamativo es que este tipo de arribos en vuelos chárter se están produciendo con frecuencia, justo días antes de las elecciones nacionales”, afirmó Cochamanidis, según reporte deErbol-Santa Cruz.
Señaló que la preocupación del movimiento cívico se incrementa ante la proximidad de las elecciones nacionales del 17 de agosto. En las elecciones de 2019 se produjeron arribos similares de extranjeros, en fechas cercanas a los comicios, cuando se denunciaron actos de fraude electoral que empañaron ese proceso.
