Oil workers’ leader: Even if they kill me, the people know that the subsidy was a business for the governments
The leader of the National Confederation of Oil Workers, Ludwig Sánchez, announced that he will soon present information about the apparent overpricing in the importation of fuel to Bolivia before the Commission of the Chamber of Deputies that is investigating the case.

The leader of the National Confederation of Oil Workers, Ludwig Sánchez, stated that the Bolivian people already know that the hydrocarbon subsidy never existed in Bolivia and was only a business for the governments of the Movement for Socialism (MAS).
“Even if they kill me — I repeat again — kidnap me or imprison me, the (Bolivian) people know the truth that the price per liter of diesel at the Chilean port is Bs 2.75 and gasoline is Bs 2.03. In that sense, the subsidy has never existed, it has been a business so that the governments in power could profit from the people’s suffering. They were not buying fuel with dollars, but with the people’s pain,” Ludwig told ANF.
In March, the oil workers’ leader denounced that the international price of fuel per metric ton could reach up to $480 when delivered to the port of Arica, Chile. “And that means, at an official exchange rate of 6.96, the price per liter of diesel would be 2.75 bolivianos per liter.”
Based on those parameters, he said the resulting profit could exceed 2.4 million dollars per day, and more than 800 million dollars per year. He also questioned the quality of the fuel, claiming it was poor.
The president of Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), Armin Dorgathen, stated during the forum “Importation and commercialization of hydrocarbons through traders in Bolivia and the world” that the company Botrading S.A. imports fuel to Bolivia without overpricing.
“Through forums and discussions, it was shown that we have no overpricing (…). We saw a video from the regional manager of Petroperú, which was one of the topics regarding Botrading, and he clearly says no, that YPFB’s processes are very transparent and that Botrading is doing good for the country,” said Dorgathen after his report to the Plurinational Legislative Assembly.
The oil workers’ leader described the forum where the international fuel prices were explained as manipulative, claiming it was allegedly held to “clean up YPFB’s image.” “The YPFB forum seemed very rigged to us, designed to clean up YPFB, which already has no credibility,” he emphasized.

El dirigente de la Confederación Nacional de Petroleros, Ludwig Sánchez, afirmó que el pueblo boliviano ya conoce que la subvención a los hidrocarburos nunca existió en Bolivia y sólo fue un negocio de los gobiernos del Movimiento Al Socialismo (MAS).
“Aunque me maten, —vuelvo y repito—, me secuestren o me encarcelen, el pueblo (boliviano) sabe la verdad de que el precio del litro de diésel en el puerto de Chile está Bs 2,75 y de la gasolina en Bs 2,03. En ese sentido, la subvención nunca ha existido, ha sido un negocio para que los gobiernos de turno puedan lucrar con el dolor del pueblo. Estaban comprando combustible no con dólares, sino con el dolor del pueblo”, señaló Ludwig en declaraciones a la ANF.
En marzo, el dirigente petrolero denunció el precio del combustible por tonelada métrica, a nivel internacional, puede llegar a costar hasta $us 480 puesto en el puerto de Arica, Chile. “Y eso significa, a un cambio de 6,96 (cotización oficial), que el precio del litro de diésel estaría en 2,75 bolivianos el litro”.
Bajo esos parámetros, dijo que existe un enriquecimiento que por día significaría más de 2,4 millones de dólares; y por año, más de 800 millones de dólares. Además, cuestionó la calidad del combustible, porque sería mala.
El presidente de Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), Armin Dorgathen, aseguró en el conversatorio “Importación y comercialización de hidrocarburos a través de traders de Bolivia y el mundo” se demostró que la empresa Botrading S.A. importa combustible a Bolivia sin sobreprecio.
“A través de los foros y conversatorios se vio que no tenemos ningún sobreprecio (…). Hemos visto un video del gerente regional de Petroperú, que fue uno de los temas de Botrading, él claramente dice que no, que los procesos de YPFB son muy transparentes y que Botrading le hace un bien al país”, indicó Dorgathen, tras su informe en la Asamblea Legislativa Plurinacional.
El dirigente petrolero calificó de mañoso el foro donde se explicó sobre el precio de los hidrocarburos a nivel internacional, debido a que fue realizado presuntamente para “lavar la imagen” de YPFB. “El foro de YPFB nos pareció muy amañado, para generar una limpieza de YPFB que ya está totalmente sin credibilidad”, subrayó.
Sánchez anunció que pronto presentará información sobre el aparente sobreprecio de la importación de combustible a Bolivia ante la Comisión de la Cámara de Diputados que investiga el caso.
