Economist Jaime Dunn reported that he has received invitations to be part of electoral tickets, either as a presidential candidate or as a cabinet minister, but he has yet to make a decision.

He stated that he has been engaged in direct and cordial conversations on the matter for several months.

“The decision is under review, but not just now—there have been invitations for several months, and responses are still pending, mainly regarding joining a ticket, leading as president, or serving as a minister of state. These proposals remain valid,” Dunn said in an interview with ERBOL.

Dunn’s name has gained traction in the electoral landscape after businessman Marcelo Claure praised the economist and his vision for the country.

Although he avoided naming those who extended the invitations, the analyst said it was an honor to be considered.

However, he clarified that the changes needed in the national economy could not be achieved simply by holding a ministerial or vice-ministerial position. He emphasized the need for a significant leadership role.

He explained that he is working on a government plan to promote greater freedoms regarding private property, put an end to land takeovers and blockades, and foster an open economy.

He stressed that wealth creation should be encouraged rather than merely redistributing it.

Additionally, he rejected the idea of seeking a strongman or “savior” and instead advocated for forming a team to drive the deep changes required.
