Cooperative miner suing park rangers was not authorized to carry out mining activities
The Mining Administrative Jurisdictional Authority (AJAM) revealed that Ramiro Cuevas, the miner who is suing two park rangers from the Madidi protected area, is not the holder of mining rights and, therefore, could not carry out this type of activity.
Cuevas is pursuing legal action against the park rangers for offenses against honor, for an incident that occurred in March 2023 when the officials tried to prevent the entry of heavy machinery into Madidi.
The AJAM, through a statement, ensured that it did not grant mining rights in the Madidi park and that Cuevas also does not have this authorization.
“… neither Mr. Ramiro Cuevas nor the ‘Virgen del Rosario de Tuhichi’ Gold Mining Cooperative appear as holders of mining rights, so they could not carry out any mining activity,” the Authority stated, based on a review of its records.
The AJAM offered to provide any information required by the jurisdictional authorities.
In the trial against the park rangers, the judge from Apolo scheduled an in-person hearing in that locality; however, officials are concerned about their safety, considering that it is a region where mining proliferates and could be hostile towards them. (Erbol)
Cooperativista que enjuicia a guardaparques no estaba habilitado a realizar actividad minera
La Autoridad Jurisdiccional Administrativa Minera (AJAM) reveló que Ramiro Cuevas, el minero que está enjuiciando a dos guardaparques del área protegida Madidi, no es titular de derechos mineros y, por lo tanto, no podría realizar este tipo de actividad.
Cuevas lleva adelante un proceso judicial contra los guardaparques por delitos contra el honor, por un episodio ocurrido en marzo de 2023 cuando los funcionarios intentaron impedir el ingreso de maquinaria pesada al Madidi.
La AJAM, mediante comunicado, aseguró que no otorgó derechos mineros en el parque Madidi y que tampoco Cuevas cuenta con esta habilitación.
“… ni el señor Ramiro Cuevas ni la Cooperativa Minera Aurífera ‘Virgen del Rosario de Tuhichi’ figuran como titulares de derechos mineros, por lo que no podrían realizar ningún tipo de actividad minera”, señaló la Autoridad, en base a una revisión de sus registros.
La AJAM se brindó a proporcionar cualquier información que sea requerida por las autoridades jurisdiccionales.
En el juicio contra los guardaparques, la juez de Apolo fijó una audiencia presencial en esa localidad, sin embargo, hay reparos de los funcionarios tomando en cuenta que es una región donde prolifera la minería y podría ser hostil hacia ellos. (Erbol)
