The Argentine diplomat launched harsh accusations against Evo Morales.

Diego Ramiro Guelar is an Argentine diplomat who served as ambassador to several countries. From that experience he launched a harsh accusation against former Bolivian president and VP, Evo Morales and Álvaro García Linera, whom he said fled the country and that Jeanine Áñez took charge of what the two MAS government leaders left behind in 2019.
“There was no coup,” said the diplomat in an interview offered to La Nación+. “He signed the resignation together with his vice president (Álvaro García Linera). He did not resist,” said the Argentine diplomat. Those statements received the gratitude of the former president, Jeanine Áñez, who published the interview with the Argentine diplomat.
Guelar assures that in Bolivia there was not even an insurrection, but that the two leaders decided to flee. “He is very clearly a coward who ran away. They were not removed from power,” he said, referring to Morales, who left the country on November 11, 2019 aboard a Mexican plane that took him to that territory.
“They went, signed and fled. As simple as that”, highlighted the former president of the Fundación Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Later, he compared what Morales and Linera did with other cases of political leaders who decided to stay and immolate themselves in their attempt.
“The former president of Chile, Salvador Allende, resisted being removed from power and ended up committing suicide. There are many who gave their lives in a noble and courageous way. This would not be the case,” the Argentine diplomat launched, clearly alluding to Morales’ actions in 2019.
He later defended the management of the former Bolivian female president and described the accusations about the links between the government of Mauricio Macri and that of Jeanine Áñez as “a delusion”. He considered the judicial process that Áñez faced and the other trials that she has pending to be nonsense. “They gave her ten years in prison when all she did was take over what they (Morales and García Linera) left behind.”
The Argentine diplomat’s statements came after learning of the former president’s visit to that neighboring nation, where he offered a “master conference” at the University of Rosario and was later received by President Alberto Fernández. Guelar said that it is not possible to understand the interest that Morales arouses when he visits Argentina, “how and where does that kind of special solidarity with him come from,” he questioned.

Diego Ramiro Guelar es un diplomático argentino que se desempeñó como embajador en varios países. “No hubo golpe”, dijo el diplomático en una entrevista ofrecida a La Nación+. “Él firmó la renuncia junto a su vicepresidente (Álvaro García Linera). No se resistió”, dijo el diplomático argentino. Esas declaraciones recibieron el agradecimiento de la expresidenta, Jeanine Áñez, quien publicó la entrevista con el diplomático argentino.
Guelar asegura que en Bolivia ni siquiera hubo una insurrección, sino que los dos mandatarios decidieron huir. “Es muy claramente un cobarde que huyó. No fueron sacados del poder”, dijo en referencia a Morales, quien salió del país el 11 de noviembre de 2019 a bordo de un avión mexicano que lo llevó a ese territorio.
“Fueron, firmaron y huyeron. Tan simple como eso”, resaltó el también expresidente de la Fundación Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Luego, comparó lo hecho por Morales y Linera con otros casos de dirigentes políticos que decidieron quedarse e inmolarse en su intento.
“El expresidente de Chile, Salvador Allende, se resistió a que lo sacaran del poder y terminó suicidándose. Hay muchos que dieron su vida de forma noble y valerosa. Este no sería el caso”, lanzó el diplomático argentino en clara alusión a las acciones de Morales en 2019.
Más adelante defendió la gestión de la expresidenta boliviana y calificó como “un delirio” las acusaciones sobre los vínculos que habría entre el Gobierno de Mauricio Macri y el de Jeanine Áñez. . Consideró un despropósito el proceso judicial que encaró Áñez y los otros juicios que tiene pendientes. “Le dieron diez años de cárcel cuando lo único que hizo fue hacerse cargo de lo que ellos (Morales y García Linera) dejaron”.
Las declaraciones del diplomático argentino se produjeron luego de conocerse la visita que realiza el expresidente a esa nación vecina donde ofreció una “conferencia magistral” en la Universidad de Rosario y luego fue recibido por el presidente Alberto Fernández. Guelar dijo que no es posible comprender el interés que despierta Morales cuando visita Argentina, “cómo y de dónde surge esa especie de solidaridad especial con él”, cuestionó.
