evo’s populist government fails one more time!

El Diario reports:

Non-traditional production does not increase

Government without horizon for exports

  • The IDB launched a proposal for a Latin American Free Trade Agreement and Bolivian businessmen say they are willing to take on challenges
  • Neighboring countries move to increase the sale of manufactured products to the world market and Bolivia continues to prioritize the domestic market

While the Bolivian government continues to prioritize the domestic market, international organizations seek to integrate the entire Latin American and Caribbean region through trade and take as a starting point the Pacific Alliance and Mercosur. Meanwhile, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has launched a proposal for a Latin American Free Trade Agreement and Bolivian businessmen say they are willing to take on challenges.

In this context, the president of the National Chamber of Exporters of Bolivia (Caneb), Wilfredo Rojo, lamented that in recent years Bolivia has not achieved a trade agreement, as did Peru, Colombia, the European Union and the United States.

Regarding the case of China, he said that there is no commercial agreement, that country is only interested in raw materials and very little manufactured products, but at low prices.

Faced with this panorama, Rojo suggested finding markets and being part of the alliances that take place at a regional and global level. Likewise, he maintained that in non-traditional matters it is vital to increase the volume not only the price.
