Bolivian blackouts are in order…

Last night, six of the nine Bolivian Departments (States) had blackouts, earlier than the worst September predictions…

And they will continue; not only households will be affected but also industries will be forced to cut down their operations, hence lower production – income – employment – taxes, etc. etc.

As of August 9, total national energy generation was 1,049 MW and the demand was 1,002 MW. According to Alvaro Rios, former Hydrocarbon minister and expert in the area said that at least 200 MW should be added by 2012; that represents $150 to $200 million dollars investment in the next nine to ten months.
