In Bolivia: Hectic month during June 2011!!

127 social conflicts in Bolivia, were recorded in June 2011!!!

UNIR Foundation registered those social unrest clashes. Their report notices the “significant” participation of women.

Many of the June conflicts share a common element: “existence of social demands for access to resources and means of subsistence; as evidenced by the controversies for the control over mining sites and from other strategic natural resources;  general demands on salary increases and others.”

During June, 30% of the conflicts were economical in nature. 14.36% were of administrative cause in public and private companies. Neighborhood, community source was the first type on conflict: 28.57% were demanding public services. 11.43% were because of political boundaries (limits) and administrative. Public administration was 8.57%.

The second sector as the most conflicting was education; who were after salary increases and public management.

This information was produced by UNIR who works since January 2006. It has over 2,000 registered cases. Eleven newspapers of national and local reach are reviewed (La Razón, La Prensa, El Alteño, Los Tiempos, Opinión, El Deber, El Mundo, Correo del Sur, El Potosí, La Palabra del Beni and La Patria). And two national radio networks.
