Time to take out the coats: cold front enters Bolivia this Monday and will affect 7 departments

The phenomenon will arrive with a “sharp drop in temperatures” through Wednesday.

Despite the fact that spring officially began yesterday, a cold front will enter Bolivia this Monday and affect the departments of Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, Beni, La Paz, Pando, Tarija, and Chuquisaca through Wednesday.

This was confirmed by the National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology (Senamhi), which, through an orange alert, reported a “sharp drop in temperatures between 6°C and 12°C below normal values.”

The outlook contrasts with what was reported over the weekend, when temperatures reached pleasant levels.

AFFECTED MUNICIPALITIES

Take note: in Cochabamba, the phenomenon will affect the provinces of Chapare, Carrasco, Tiraque, Arani, Punata, Cercado, northern Ayopaya and Quillacollo, and northeastern Campero and Mizque.

In Santa Cruz, those affected will be Andrés Ibáñez, Warnes, Ichilo, Sara, Caballero, Vallegrande, Florida, Santiesteban, Chiquitos, Guarayos, Ñuflo de Chávez, Velazco, Ángel Sandoval, Germán Busch, and Cordillera.

Meanwhile, in Beni: Moxos, Marbán, Cercado, Mamoré, Iténez, Yacuma, J. Ballivián, and Vaca Díez. In La Paz: Caranavi, Nor and Sud Yungas, Franz Tamayo, Iturralde, and the north of Larecaja, Muñecas, Bautista Saavedra, and Inquisivi.

In Pando, the provinces expected to be hit are Nicolás Suárez, Manuripi, Abuná, Madre de Dios, and Federico Román. In Tarija: O’Connor, Gran Chaco, and eastern Méndez, Arce, Cercado, and J. María Avilés.

Finally, in Chuquisaca: Luis Calvo, Hernando Siles, Boeto, Tomina, and eastern Zudañez, Azurduy, Nor and Sud Cinti.
