INITIATIVE BY PROMETA

The NGO Protección del Medio Ambiente Tarija (PROMETA) has introduced Ruta del Vino Bolivia (www.rutadelvinobolivia.com), the country’s first platform fully dedicated to wine tourism. The site gathers tourist information from the Tarija and Cinti valleys, including wineries, vineyards, tour operators, complementary services, and cultural activities.

The platform allows visitors to plan circuits, access updated information, and make direct reservations for wine-related experiences such as winery tours, tastings, vineyard walks, and heritage visits. The portal also integrates data on restaurants, lodging, and nearby points of interest.

The initiative was promoted by PROMETA with support from Fundación Solydes and Inspiration Incubator. The technological development was carried out by IT Group Systems, while user-experience design was handled by Keemis Studio. According to the organization, the project aims to provide a tool that consolidates and organizes the sector’s scattered information.

Beyond its informative function, the platform incorporates an internal management panel that allows wineries and operators to update prices, availability, and descriptions in real time, in order to facilitate the administration of their offerings. PROMETA noted that this component seeks to improve coordination among the various tourism actors.

The site also includes an e-commerce section called “store with purpose,” through which products linked to environmental conservation initiatives and local enterprises are offered.

The promoters emphasize that the launch of the portal may help expand the reach of wine-tourism offerings to national and international markets and strengthen the availability of information on the southern valleys, a region that in recent years has increased its viticulture and tourism activity.
