Government decides to repeal four taxes, including those on large fortunes and financial transfers

The Government decided to repeal four taxes and for this will send three bills to the Plurinational Legislative Assembly, Minister of Economy José Gabriel Espinoza reported this morning.

The taxes that will be annulled are those on large fortunes, on financial transfers, on gambling, and on corporate promotions.

“These four taxes do not represent more than 1% of tax revenue. However, they have generated a series of contradictions and problems in the business environment,” Espinoza said.

Minister of Economy José Gabriel Espinoza announced that fiscal spending will be reduced by 30% for 2026.

At a press conference, together with the president, Rodrigo Paz, Espinoza reported that today a request will be made to the Chamber of Deputies to return the Budget Law so that it can be modified.

“We will include in the Budget Law an article that allows us to review the budget until February 2026 under a rule of fiscal spending reduction. At least we will reduce fiscal spending by 30% for 2026. This implies an exhaustive process of reviewing public spending and rearranging everything related to public institutions.”
