A survey released by TV networks Cadena A and Red UNO shows that Samuel Doria Medina leads the national voting intention with 19.6%.

This is the fifth survey since last April that places Doria Medina as the best-positioned among the opposition. The survey was conducted nationwide by the firm Captura Consulting and has a 95% confidence level.

Jorge Tuto Quiroga comes in second place with 16.6%, followed by Andrónico Rodríguez, who reaches 13.7%. Lower on the list are Manfred Reyes Villa with 8.8% and PDC candidate Rodrigo Paz with 6.3%.

The rest of the candidates show lower numbers: Johnny Fernández reaches 3.8%, while three others register voting intentions below 2%: Eduardo del Castillo, Eva Copa, Fidel Tapia, and the ADN candidacy.

The survey reflects a fragmented vote: no opposition candidate surpasses 20% (though there is a 27% undecided vote), and candidates aligned with MAS appear even weaker: Andrónico has less than 14%, and the rest (Johnny Fernández, Eva Copa, and Eduardo del Castillo) total 6.2%.

A 27.9% of respondents have yet to decide their vote. The survey did not include Jaime Dunn, from NGP, as he is not yet officially a presidential candidate. His case is still under review by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal.

Four recent surveys have placed Doria Medina as the best-positioned candidate. He obtained 24.02% in a survey last week by the newspaper El Deber; in that poll, former president Jorge Tuto Quiroga followed with 22.07%. That survey, by Spie Consulting, placed Andrónico Rodríguez in third with 14.7% support.

Another survey, from Unitel on June 1, also shows Doria Medina in the lead with 19.1% public support, with Tuto half a point behind. In that survey, conducted by Ipsos CiesMori, Andrónico had 14.2% support.

Two surveys from March and April—one by Panterra and sponsored by businessman Marcelo Claure, and another by Captura Consulting for Red UNO—also ranked Doria Medina as the top opposition candidate.
